Our experience at Mendoza

Hello!
In this post we wanted to write about our trip to San Rafael.
We enjoyed very much this camping, because we shared a lot of things, emotions and feelings with our friends and we got to know more people from other courses.
The trip was fantastic in spite of sleeping on tents, but we had great fun!
The first night, as the bus broke in the middle of the journey, we had to sleep in the place where we ate due to we arrived too late, at eleven o'clock. The last night we had to do this again because the next morning we had to wake up early, that's to say, at four o'clock.
We liked most of the food except all the breakfasts because we drank mate cocido, and the last night's dinner that was polenta.
One day, we had the opportunity to do rafting in the Atuel River! It was an unforgetable experinece! We really enjoy this activity so the next day, we could repeait this amazing sport! It was a sourprise for us. Unfortunately, while doing rafting, Manuela got a bruise on her knee so one morning she went to the doctor, but thanks god she get cured easily.
One of the afternoons, we had a meal with a group of twelve mates, where we had to cook lunch ourselves. We prepared a special food that had tomato, potato, carrots, onion, garlic and meat.
Another important experience that we had with the same group, was that one night we went to sleep in other caming in the middle of a hill, where we slept in a kind of tent that we had to put up alone. It was a big one, just imagine twelve childs sleeping there! In addition, we cooked ourselves too.
We think that the campings are a great idea to get to know each other better, and is a way of relaxing from school and all days life, it is like a kind of holiday!!!
We both hope you had a great time as we did.
Kisses
Saru and Manu !

We are going to write about Bora Bora:

Bora Bora is the kind of tropical island most often found in dreams... a Polynesian jewwel green forests. Once home to Paul Gauguin, inspiration to countless other artist and writers, it retains all its legendary beauty and charm, exerting an irresistible magnetism on those seeking to escape the cares of the everyday world.
In the middle of Bora Bora´s espectacular lagoon lies Motu Toopua, a fragment of an ancient volcano that has become the ultimate tropical hideaway, a sweet-scented enclave of lush plants and flowers, tall palms and white sand beaches.

Red Hot Chilli Peppers

Red Hot Chili Peppers are an American alternative rock bandformed in Los Angeles, California in 1983. For most of its career, the group has consisted of vocalist Anthony Kiedis, guitarist John Frusciante, bassist Michael "Flea" Balzary, and drummer Chad Smith. The band's varied musical style has fused traditional rock with various elements of funk, punk rock, hip hop, heavy metal, anda psychedelic rock.

In addition to Kiedis and Flea, the group originally featured guitarist Hillel Slovak and drummer Jack Irons. However, Slovak died of a heroin overdose in 1988, resulting in Irons resigning.

Irons was replaced briefly by D. H. Peligro, the formerDead Kennedys drummer, before the band found a permanent replacement in Chad Smith, while Slovak was replaced by upcoming guitarist Frusciante. This lineup recorded the band's fourth and fifth albums, 1989's Mother´s Milk.

Frusciante grew increasingly uncomfortable with the band's success and left the band abruptly in 1992. Kiedis, Flea, and Smith employed Dave Navarro of Jane`s Addiction for their subsequent album, 1995's One Hot Minute. It failed, however, to match the critical acclaim of Blood Sugar Sex Magik and sold less than half the copies of its predecessor. Shortly afterwards, Navarro was fired from the band due to creative differences.

Frusciante, while absent from the band, developed a severe drug addiction and nearly died. In 1998, he completed rehabilitation and, at Flea's request, rejoined the band. The reunited foursome returned to the studio to record 1999's Californication, which went on to sell fifteen million units worldwide, becoming their most successful album to date. It was followed three years later with By the Way, which continued their success. In 2006, the group released the double album Stadium Arcadium. Stadium Arcadium was voted the second best album of 2006 by Rolling Stone magazine and nominated for the Album of the Year Grammy in 2007.
I really like this band because of their career.
Hope you like this article as much as I enjoyed while writing it.
Kisses
Cecilia Rodriguez.

Every year the comparsas have a mazimum of 2 hundred and 60 members, 4 floats and 4 dresses.

The members of the comparsa wear harnesses on thair shoulders and back to carry a sort of backpack. A headdress covers their head. The harnesses and headdresses symbolize the chosen theme. Each comparsa has its own workshop with specialists, because all the costume must be comfortable while dancing.

The Fancy Costumes are the most spectacular elementes in the comparsa. They are so haevy that they don't let the person who wears it dance. They usually have wheels and ligths.

Special costumes take part in competition where the paraders must dance with the harness. They usually wiegh 80 kilos , have 2.500 feathers, and several kilos of stones , pears and others elements.

Our camp at Mendoza

Hi, as you all know we came back from camping at Mendoza a few days ago and I would like to tell you what are the things I most enjoyed .

I loved the camping site, the "Club of Pescadores", it was an amazing place, the view was awesome. We also did many interesting things such as rafting in the Atuel river, the water was freezing but it was really fun. I enjoyed the vivac, it was so much fun, having to build our own shelter and cook our own food, the view there was also great, the only bad thing about it were the "bathrooms". We also visited "La Vieja Bodega" where we could see how wine is made. I got to spend a lot of time with my friends and know new people I didn't know very much.

In my conclusion Mendoza is a really nice part of our country and all the affort made by everyone was really worth it.

I hope you enjoyed reading about my opinion of this camp.

Best wishes .

Florencia Stonski.

Mendoza

Today we decided to talk about this city because, as everybody knows, on October 12th we are going camping there for seven days.
Mendoza is a city in the west of Argentina. It is on a major road between
Argentina and Chile. It is a frequent stopover for climbers heading up Aconcagua (the highest mountain in the Western Hemisphere) or for other mountaineering, hiking, horseback riding, rafting (we hope we are going to do it!), and more outdoor activities. In the winter, skiers come to the city for its easy access to the Andes .
One of the main industries of the Mendoza area is
wine making.
Mendoza was founded in
1561 by Pedro del Castillo. Here, José de San Martín organized the army with which he won the independence of Chile and Peru.
In
1861 a severe earthquake destroyed the city and killed at least 5,000 people.

It has very dry summers with wetter winters.
Now that we know a little bit more about this city, we are ready to go! We hope that you find this post useful! We both think that we will have fun!
Kisses

McFly

McFly are a British pop rock band who were successfully launched into the music scene in early 2004 with their number one single, "5 Colours in Her Hair". The band was founded by Tom Fletcher (born 17 July 1985) and also consists of Danny Jones (born 12 March 1986), Dougie Poynter (born 30 November 1987) and Harry Judd (born 23 December 1985). They are signed to the Island Records label and are managed by Prestige Management.
As of May 2007, McFly have an impressive chart record of twelve top ten singles, seven of which reached number one in the UK Singles Chart and two number one albums, their debut being Room on the 3rd Floor followed by Wonderland. Their third album, Motion in the Ocean, was released on 6 November 2006 and charted at number six. An announcement was made on their My pace page in April 2007 that the band will be releasing a Greatest Hits so Far compilation on November 5th 2007, and a fourth studio album in March 2008.
The name "McFly" was chosen by Tom Fletcher, the band's founding member, based on his love for the American science-fiction comedy Back to the Future series and Michael J. Fox's character Marty McFly. In 2004, the band found out that there was an American band also called McFly. The American McFly subsequently received a pay-off to change their name, which they did - renaming themselves Biff Tannen, after Marty McFly's enemy from the Back to the Future movie.
Fletcher had originally auditioned for Busted, but was rejected. He then started writing songs with Busted member James Bourne and was asked to come along to film auditions for a new band, V. Jones came along to the audition mistaking it for an audition for a Busted-like band. Fletcher spoke to Jones afterwards and Jones and Fletcher moved into the Intercontinental Hotel in London for 2 months, and the two began writing songs along with Bourne. To complete the band, they held auditions at London's Convent Garden for a drummer and a bass player. Coincidentally, Poynter and Judd both auditioned on the same day.

the horses

The Horses
The horse is a large odd-toed
ungulate mammal , one of ten modern species of the genus Equus.Horses have long been among the most economically important domesticated animals; however their importance has declined with the introduction of mechanization. The horse is a prominent figure in the ideals of religion, mythology, and art and plays an important role in transportation, agriculture, and warfare. Horses also serve as a source of fuel and clothing. Most breeds of horses are able to perform work such as carryng humans on their backs or be harnessed to pull objects such as carts or plows However, horse breeds were developed to allow horses to be specialized for certain tasks; lighter horses for racing or riding, heavier horses for farming and other tasks requiring pulling power. Some horses, such as the miniature horse, can be kept as pets. In some societies, horses are a source of food, both meat and milk; in others it is taboo to consume them. In industrialized country, horses are predominantly kept for leisure and sporting pursuits, while in other parts of the world they are used as working animals.Because horses and humans have lived and worked together for thousands of years, an extensive specialized vocabulary has arisen to describe virtually every horse behavioral and anatomical characteristic with a high degree of precision.
