I have decied to tell you about one of the most important carnivas in the world, whick takes place in Gualeguaychú.
During the months of January and February, Gualeguaychú prepares to offer one of the most expectes shows in the area.
Every year the comparsas have a mazimum of 2 hundred and 60 members, 4 floats and 4 dresses.
The members of the comparsa wear harnesses on thair shoulders and back to carry a sort of backpack. A headdress covers their head. The harnesses and headdresses symbolize the chosen theme. Each comparsa has its own workshop with specialists, because all the costume must be comfortable while dancing.
The Fancy Costumes are the most spectacular elementes in the comparsa. They are so haevy that they don't let the person who wears it dance. They usually have wheels and ligths.
Special costumes take part in competition where the paraders must dance with the harness. They usually wiegh 80 kilos , have 2.500 feathers, and several kilos of stones , pears and others elements.
The music is playes by the Orchestras and it is trasmitted by radio, except to the las section , in whick the Batucada is . The Batucada is a group of people who also play music while they are dancing.
Before the show the Queen of Carnival is chosen for her beauty and then she parades carrying a crown.
In the last years the Gualeguaychú Carnival has attracted more and more people. It is an argentinian tradition and people form all over the world came to participate.
I would really like to go ..!!! And what about you ??
