Hi, my name is Martina Cardoso and I would like to tell you some things about my favourites bands. I love listening to music, and my favourite ones are Keane and Mcfly. Then, I like The Beatles, Rod Stewart, Panic! At the Disco, Travis, Starsailor, John Mayer and more...
But I'd like you to know somethin about Mcfly and Keane. (=
McFly is a British pop/rock band who started playing music in 2004 when they released their number one single, "5 Colours in Her Hair".
The band was formed by Tom Fletcher (guitar and vocals) and it also consists in Danny Jones (vocals and guitar), Dougie Poynter (bass) and Harry Judd (drums). The company which offered a record deal to the band is Island Records label.
McFly have a chart record of thirteen top ten singles, Their alums are: their debut, Room on the 3rd Floor (2004 and number 1), and their second, Wonderland(2005 and number 1) and their third one, Motion in the Ocean (Nov. 2006 number 6).
The band released their All The Greatest Hits album on November 5, 2007, which was charted at number three. And their fourth album will be released in 2008.
And Keane is an English piano-rock band. They were first established in Battle (East Sussex) in 1995. They took their current name in 1997 (When Tom Chaplin started playing music with them) . The group comprised of composer, bassist, and pianist Tim Rice-Oxley, lead vocalist Tom Chaplin and drumme Richard Hughes.
Dominic Scott (guitarist) was in the band up to 2001, when he left because of the lack of success.
Keane is known for using a piano as their lead instrument instead of guitars. Nowadays combine the pure piano rock sound used during their first album and the alternative rock sound which developed during 2005.
Keane's first two albums, Hopes and Fears(2004: this means they tried and tried 7 years for having a record deal, they finally got it in 2004 when Simon Williams of Fierce Panda "discovered" them and put their single "Everybody's Changing" on his label. Then, they were offered a total of 21 record deals. Islands Records is the one they choose) and Under the Iron Sea(2006) had great success in the United Kingdom upon release and very high sales worldwide: their multi-award-winning debut was the best-selling British album of 2004 and their follow-up sold 222,297 copies during its first week on sale in June 2006.
I hope you liked it. Bye !
