Discover the museums of lower Manhattan:
There are 15 Museums of Lower Manhattan that will inspire you unlike any other destinations in New York. Want to show your kids where the alins landed? Check out the South Street Seaport Museum. Ready to meet New Yorkers from the 19th century? They will greet you in person at the Lower East Side Tenement Museum. It's all here- in the historic downtown area south of Houston Street- at the 15 Museums Of lower Manhattan.
Each of these Museums tells fascinating stories about the struggles and triumphs of "ordinary" New Yorkers and Americans. Some Museums are huge institutions in modern buildings with multi-media presentations. Others are intimate spaces at inspiring historical land-marks. Since many are walking distance apart, you can enjoy several in one terrific day downtown.
Weekens and vactions are a great time to treat your family to the museum of lower Manhattan. Especially for kids in grade school and junior high, there are fims, hans-on exhibits, guided tours, and arts and crafts that are educational.

Keane and Mcfly
But I'd like you to know somethin about Mcfly and Keane. (=
McFly is a British pop/rock band who started playing music in 2004 when they released their number one single, "5 Colours in Her Hair".
The band was formed by Tom Fletcher (guitar and vocals) and it also consists in Danny Jones (vocals and guitar), Dougie Poynter (bass) and Harry Judd (drums). The company which offered a record deal to the band is Island Records label.
McFly have a chart record of thirteen top ten singles, Their alums are: their debut, Room on the 3rd Floor (2004 and number 1), and their second, Wonderland(2005 and number 1) and their third one, Motion in the Ocean (Nov. 2006 number 6).
The band released their All The Greatest Hits album on November 5, 2007, which was charted at number three. And their fourth album will be released in 2008.
And Keane is an English piano-rock band. They were first established in Battle (East Sussex) in 1995. They took their current name in 1997 (When Tom Chaplin started playing music with them) . The group comprised of composer, bassist, and pianist Tim Rice-Oxley, lead vocalist Tom Chaplin and drumme Richard Hughes.
Dominic Scott (guitarist) was in the band up to 2001, when he left because of the lack of success.
Keane is known for using a piano as their lead instrument instead of guitars. Nowadays combine the pure piano rock sound used during their first album and the alternative rock sound which developed during 2005.
Keane's first two albums, Hopes and Fears(2004: this means they tried and tried 7 years for having a record deal, they finally got it in 2004 when Simon Williams of Fierce Panda "discovered" them and put their single "Everybody's Changing" on his label. Then, they were offered a total of 21 record deals. Islands Records is the one they choose) and Under the Iron Sea(2006) had great success in the United Kingdom upon release and very high sales worldwide: their multi-award-winning debut was the best-selling British album of 2004 and their follow-up sold 222,297 copies during its first week on sale in June 2006.
I hope you liked it. Bye !

What are your expectations of this National Team which had a good star at the Qualifiers?
I am confident. We are lucky to have great players. It is impòrtant to have a good star. In this will acquire more self confidence: we shouldn't have any trouble to qualify, anyway, we will have to prove itin every game because every one will be a new challenge since we all know yhat there are many difficulties at the qualifiers.
How do get along with Ronaldinho, E'to, Henry?
It is an excellent experience. It is a great group. I'm lucky to play with important players in Barcelona and the same in the National team.
What are your expectations for the future of the season?
Yes, I have some expectations because we played great games at first, we have remarkable players and we wish to finish the year enjoying many things.
Do you ever think of your popularity when you are only 20 years?
I try not to think of it to much. I want to enjoy football, to play quietly as usual.
Even forgetting the comparison with Maradona, after the goal againts the Getafe...
There were many comments on it everywhere and I was happy. But always making a difference and separating his popularity from mine.

MADONNA
We decided to write about her, because we think that she is an incredible American pop singer-songwriter. She worked as a dancer, film producer, actress, and is a fashion icon. She is a brilliant performer.
Madonna is commonly referred to as the "Queen of Pop" in the media due to since her debut in 1982, she has become the best-selling female artist in popular music (she was also listed by the Guinness Book of World Records as the "World’s Most-successful Female Musician".
She was born in August 16 in Michigan (United States) but her origin as a singer took place in New York City, after being convinced by her ballet teacher so she left the university and moved to that city, where her career as a dancer started.
Her first hit was “Everybody”, a self-written song. Her debut album, Madonna, was a collection of dance songs, this album would see slow start but then it reached number eight on the U.S. albums chart.
Madonna's look and manner of dress, her photographs, live performances and music videos, became an important influence among young girls and women. Defined by tops, skirts over capri pants, and bleached hair, this distinctive style became an iconic female fashion trend in the 1980s (that is why we said that Madonna is a fashion icon. Nowadays she is it too).
Her next album, called Like a Virgin, became her first number one album on the U.S. albums chart. Its title track, Like a Virgin, which reached number one in the U.S. with a six week stay at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart. The album sold eight million copies in the US and another four million worldwide at its time of release. It currently stands at 17 million copies worldwide.
Her discography includes ten studio albums, five compilations, three full soundtracks, two live albums and numerous singles. We won’t talk about all her albums or singles, but we will list them: Madonna, Like a Virgin, True Blue, Like a prayer, Erotica, Bedtime stories, Ray of light, Music, American Life and the last one Confessions on a dance floor.
Our conclusion is that Madonna not only sings in an amazing way, but she also dance great! We like very much and enjoy listening to her music because it is a mix of pop, dance and electronic music and her hits. Now we heard that she will publish in 2008 a new record called connextion we hope it will be as good as the other ones!! Well, we hope that you enjoyed reading about this artist because we like her very much... kisses

As soon as he got out of the car,Tom felt uneasy. The body he saw between the wood caught his attention,he didn't know why,but he wanted to see it.He began to walk slowly to the body.As he came towards it,the smell became worst. Finally he saw it, it was the body of a boy of about ten years covered with blood.
Tom started to investigated the body and discovered that there was a cut in the boy's neck, someone killed him.Suddenly he saw a shadow behind a tree and heart the shout of a woman. Bora Bora is the kind of tropical island most often found in dreams... a Polynesian jewwel green forests. Once home to Paul Gauguin, inspiration to countless other artist and writers, it retains all its legendary beauty and charm, exerting an irresistible magnetism on those seeking to escape the cares of the everyday world.
In the middle of Bora Bora´s espectacular lagoon lies Motu Toopua, a fragment of an ancient volcano that has become the ultimate tropical hideaway, a sweet-scented enclave of lush plants and flowers, tall palms and white sand beaches.

Red Hot Chilli Peppers
Frusciante grew increasingly uncomfortable with the band's success and left the band abruptly in 1992. Kiedis, Flea, and Smith employed Dave Navarro of Jane`s Addiction for their subsequent album, 1995's One Hot Minute. It failed, however, to match the critical acclaim of Blood Sugar Sex Magik and sold less than half the copies of its predecessor. Shortly afterwards, Navarro was fired from the band due to creative differences.
Frusciante, while absent from the band, developed a severe drug addiction and nearly died. In 1998, he completed rehabilitation and, at Flea's request, rejoined the band. The reunited foursome returned to the studio to record 1999's Californication, which went on to sell fifteen million units worldwide, becoming their most successful album to date. It was followed three years later with By the Way, which continued their success. In 2006, the group released the double album Stadium Arcadium. Stadium Arcadium was voted the second best album of 2006 by Rolling Stone magazine and nominated for the Album of the Year Grammy in 2007.

Mendoza
Today we decided to talk about this city because, as everybody knows, on October 12th we are going camping there for seven days.
Mendoza is a city in the west of Argentina. It is on a major road between Argentina and Chile. It is a frequent stopover for climbers heading up Aconcagua (the highest mountain in the Western Hemisphere) or for other mountaineering, hiking, horseback riding, rafting (we hope we are going to do it!), and more outdoor activities. In the winter, skiers come to the city for its easy access to the Andes .
One of the main industries of the Mendoza area is wine making.
Mendoza was founded in 1561 by Pedro del Castillo. Here, José de San Martín organized the army with which he won the independence of Chile and Peru.
In 1861 a severe earthquake destroyed the city and killed at least 5,000 people.
It has very dry summers with wetter winters.
Now that we know a little bit more about this city, we are ready to go! We hope that you find this post useful! We both think that we will have fun!
Kisses

McFly
As of May 2007, McFly have an impressive chart record of twelve top ten singles, seven of which reached number one in the UK Singles Chart and two number one albums, their debut being Room on the 3rd Floor followed by Wonderland. Their third album, Motion in the Ocean, was released on 6 November 2006 and charted at number six. An announcement was made on their My pace page in April 2007 that the band will be releasing a Greatest Hits so Far compilation on November 5th 2007, and a fourth studio album in March 2008.
The name "McFly" was chosen by Tom Fletcher, the band's founding member, based on his love for the American science-fiction comedy Back to the Future series and Michael J. Fox's character Marty McFly. In 2004, the band found out that there was an American band also called McFly. The American McFly subsequently received a pay-off to change their name, which they did - renaming themselves Biff Tannen, after Marty McFly's enemy from the Back to the Future movie.
Fletcher had originally auditioned for Busted, but was rejected. He then started writing songs with Busted member James Bourne and was asked to come along to film auditions for a new band, V. Jones came along to the audition mistaking it for an audition for a Busted-like band. Fletcher spoke to Jones afterwards and Jones and Fletcher moved into the Intercontinental Hotel in London for 2 months, and the two began writing songs along with Bourne. To complete the band, they held auditions at London's Convent Garden for a drummer and a bass player. Coincidentally, Poynter and Judd both auditioned on the same day.

the horses
The Horses
The horse is a large odd-toed ungulate mammal , one of ten modern species of the genus Equus.Horses have long been among the most economically important domesticated animals; however their importance has declined with the introduction of mechanization. The horse is a prominent figure in the ideals of religion, mythology, and art and plays an important role in transportation, agriculture, and warfare. Horses also serve as a source of fuel and clothing. Most breeds of horses are able to perform work such as carryng humans on their backs or be harnessed to pull objects such as carts or plows However, horse breeds were developed to allow horses to be specialized for certain tasks; lighter horses for racing or riding, heavier horses for farming and other tasks requiring pulling power. Some horses, such as the miniature horse, can be kept as pets. In some societies, horses are a source of food, both meat and milk; in others it is taboo to consume them. In industrialized country, horses are predominantly kept for leisure and sporting pursuits, while in other parts of the world they are used as working animals.Because horses and humans have lived and worked together for thousands of years, an extensive specialized vocabulary has arisen to describe virtually every horse behavioral and anatomical characteristic with a high degree of precision.
Vocabulary
Domesticated:to bring animals under human control in order to provide food, power or companionship
Mechanization:to use a machine to do something that used to be done by hand
Industrialized Countries:a company whose main business is producing goods, or a share in such a company when it is traded on the

Walt Disney World Resort
Walt Disney World
Walt Disney World Resort is the largest and most visited recreational resort in the world, containing four theme parks, many themed hotels and numerous shopping, dining, entertainment and recreation venues.Construction began in 1967, less than a year after Walt Disney's death.
It opened on October 1 1971, with the Magic Kingdom theme park, and has since opened Epcot (on October 1 1982), Disney-MGM Studios (on May 1 1989), and Disney's Animal Kingdom (on April 22 1998). Walt Disney World Resort features four theme parks, each represented by an iconic structure:
The Mag ic Kingdom-Cinderella Castle
Epcot-Spaceship Earth
Disney-MGM Studios-The Sorcerer's Hat; formerly the Earful Tower
Disney's Animal Kingdom-The Tree of Life
In 1959, the Walt Disney Company, under the leadership of Walt Disney, began looking for land for a second resort to supplement Disneyland, which had opened in Anaheim, California in 1955. Walt Disney first flew over the Orlando site on November 22, 1963, the day John F. Kennedy was assassinated. A press conference soon was organized for November 15. At the presentation, Walt Disney explained the plans for the site, including EPCOT, the Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow, which was to be a futuristic city (and which was also known as Progress City). Plans for EPCOT would drastically change after Disney's death. EPCOT became EPCOT Center, the resort's second theme park, which opened in 1982. Concepts from the original idea of EPCOT would be integrated into the community of Celebration much later.
Walt Disney himself died on December 15, 1966, before his vision was realized. His brother Roy Disney postponed his retirement to oversee construction of the resort. On February 2, 1967, Roy Disney held a press conference at the Park Theatres in Winter Park, Florida. The role of EPCOT was emphasized in the film that was played, the last one recorded by Walt Disney before his death.
Roy O. Disney, Walt Disney's older brother, dedicated the property and declared that it officially would be known as "Walt Disney World" in his brother's honor. In his own words: "Everyone has heard of Ford cars. But have they all heard of Henry Ford, who started it all? Walt Disney World is in memory of the man who started it all, so people will know his name as long as Walt Disney World is here." After the dedication, Roy Disney asked Walt's widow, Lillian, what she thought of Walt Disney World. According to biographer Bob Thomas, she replied, "I think Walt would have approved."
Walt Disney World had its own aircraft runway located just east of the Magic Kingdom parking lot. When the resort opened in 1971, Shawnee Airlines began regular passenger service from Orlando's McCoy Air Force Base (now Orlando International Airport) directly to Disney World's STOLport (Short Take Off and Landing) on a daily basis, with flights lasting only a few minutes. Today, the runway is mostly used as a staging area for buses and is no longer in service for aircraft.

The history of Coca Cola
Originally intended as a patent medicine when it was invented in the late 19th century by John Pemberton, Coca-Cola was bought out by businessman Asa Griggs Candler, whose marketing tactics led Coke to its dominance of the world soft drink market throughout the 20th century. Although faced with criticisms of its health effects and various allegations of wrongdoing by the company, Coca-Cola has remained a popular soft drink to the present day.
The company actually produces concentrate for Coca-Cola, which is then sold to various Coca-Cola bottlers throughout the world. The bottlers, who hold territorially exclusive contracts with the company, produce finished product in cans and bottles from the concentrate in combination with filtered water and sweeteners. The bottlers then sell, distribute and merchandise Coca-Cola in cans and bottles to retail stores and vending machines. Such bottlers include Coca-Cola Enterprises, which is the single largest Coca-Cola bottler in North America, Australia, Asia and Europe. The Coca-Cola Company also sells concentrate for fountain sales to major restaurants and food service distributors.
The Coca-Cola Company has, on occasion, introduced other cola drinks under the Coke brand name. The most common of these is Diet Coke, which has become a major diet cola but others exist, including Diet Coke Caffeine-Free , Cherry Coke, Coca-Cola Zero, Vanilla Coke and special editions with lemon and with lime, and even with coffee. The Coca-Cola Company owns and markets other soft drinks that do not carry the large Coca-Cola brand marking, such as Sprite, Fanta, Pibb, and others, but the Coca-Cola Company's trademark name can usually be found somewhere on the bottle.

La Vela Puerca
La Vela Puerca is a Uruguayan rock band formed in Montevideo on December1995. Its founders and current members are Sebastián Teysera (lead vocals, frontman and main songwriter), Nicolás Lieutier (bass guitar) and Santiago Butler (guitar). The band's first appearance under the name La Vela Puerca was on a street party in Montevideo on December 1995. By then, several new members had already joined in.
In 1996, frontman Sebastián Teysera entered a demo tape into a band contest. The rest of the band did not become aware of this until they found out they were listened among the twenty finalists. It was only a month later that they received a phone call informing them about their success. As a result, they were awarded 80 hours of free recording sessions. These sessions would turn out to be vital for the making of their debut album.
To this day, the band has released four albums plus a re-release of the first: Deskarado (1997), La Vela Puerca (1999, Deskarado re-release), De Bichos y Flores (2001) and A Contraluz (2004). Soda Stereo
The members of this band are:
- Gustavo Cerati (guitarist, vocalist).
- Zeta Bosio (bassist).
- Charly Alberti (drummer).
History:
It was formed in Buenos Aires in 1980. The 3 members, decided to creat a trio, and a year later they released two demos and started playing in different bars. After a few shows, CBS decided to give a chance to this trio.
It was 1984 when they released their debut album, Soda Stereo, thas was produced by Federico Moura, the leader of the ban Virus. That same year they played in the Rock & Pop festival.
Their second album was released a year later, and was called Nada Personal. They afirmed the popularity of the band, with songs such as, Nada Personal, and Cuando Pase el Temblor. The video of the second song was nominated as the Finalist Video on the 12º World Festival of Video and TV.
In 1986, they presented Signos, and it was the firs argentine-rock album released in Compact Disc, although this version was released in 1988. This album contain one of the most famous songs of Soda Stereo, Persiana America. It contains Signos and Profugos too. With this album they made a tour through Latin America, were they made 22 concerts in 17 cities. There it was made a live album, Ruido Blanco, that contains the songs recorded in the Signos Tour, but they didn´t published it.
After a year, they published Doble Vida in 1988. It contained the gratest hit of Soda Stereo, De Música Ligera. It also contains another very popular songs such as Un Millon de Años Luz, Té para Tres and (En) El Septimo Día. This album is considered the best work made by the band, along with Signos. On December 14, 1991, they played a concert for 250.000 peopleon the 9 de Julio avenue.
In 1992 they released their last album, Dynamo. This album was the most ignored work of the band, because of the lose of Zeto Bosio´s child in a car accident, that made the band to stop promoting this album. Here start some problems between the band.
However, in 1995 they released Sueño Stereo which contains Ella Usó mi Cabeza como un Revolver, Paseando por Roma and Zoom. This album obteins the platinum disc after fifhteen days of being presented.
On May 1, in 1997 personal problems in the band, made the members to announce its end and made the final tour on July 1997. They made their las concert in the River Plate Stadium, on September 20.
Solo Work:
After the broken up of the band, each member continued with their own´s works.
Gustavo Cerati:
He worked with Daniel Melero making a album called Colores Santos in 1992, but it was never really presented. However two singles alums appeared: Vuelta por el Universo and Hoy ya no Soy Yo.
His solo albums between 1993 and 2006 were Amor Amarillo, Bocanada, +Bien, Siempre es Hoy and Ahí Vamos!.
Zeta Bosio:
He has a low profile during this year. He didn´t make many works such as Cerati, but he help in producing albums wih bands like Aguirre and Peligrosos Gorriones.
Charly Alberti:
He made only one album after Soda Stereo separation, Plum, along with his girlfriend. After this album he became more interested in informatics and he started working for a company called Cybrel Digital Entertainment.
Alberti recently formed a ban with his brother, and made a album called as their band Mole.
Comeback:
After 10 years(1997 - 2007), they are going to make a tour around South América before the end of the year called Me Verás Volver. This tour will start at the River Plate Stadium (where they gave their las concert) on October 19, in this year. After this tours the band won´t continue, because the member of the band plan to continue with their individual careers.
Our Opinion:
Soda Stereo is one of the most important argentinian bands. It is great, between other things, that although it is and old band, and the generatios change a lot, their songs are well-known between children and teenagers, and they are played in all the discotheques.
Here we gave to you 3 videos of songs of Soda Stereo in their concerts:
